I shot this on thanksgiving morning, give it to me. Harsh, gentle, whatever it takes...

I just think the leaf is too insignificant for the image I think you want to create, the environment is overwhelming the leaf and it is a strain to see it. The shot would have worked had the leaf you wanted to capture was somewhat more prominent. Your focal point seems to be right on but the right on is just too small and lacks enough umph in the colour area to make up for the lack of size, and with size I am not talking much larger but somewhat larger or a tighter focal point with less environment. Nothing wrong with your technique just the focal point is underwhelming to me. I hope I makes sense.

AcadieLibre has explained it very well. I think that a tighter crop might really help. I tried this on the screen. On a PC hold the ctrl key down and move the scroll wheel and your image (and any text will get larger or smaller). I zoomed in untill only a smaller portion was displayed on the screen and the leaf was much more prominent. I quite like it now.

I tried viewing the image on my iPad by zooming in, and I see what you are talking about. It looks aas though a crop is in order...

Thanks!
