The name of a new sculpture installation outside the Calgary Courthouse by Saskatchewan sculptor Joe Fafard. The identical sculptures are installed in Quebec City. There are eight different horses with a variety of themes and images contained within each piece. With the city as a backdrop, these are amazing urban art.

these are brilliant sculptures and I like how you took them. It's like the horses are ghosts

They are interesting sculptures to be sure. I don't remember JAS showing us all of them but I remember that second one. Very cool set.

Cool set, Mike! When we were on art walk, we also saw some smaller Fafard work at Master's Art Gallery. Bambi, in a way they are like ghosts. Each horse carries a bit of history inside him, but they also carry the present and the future.

Sculptures are WAY cool - 8 is my fave as well because the background works so well w/the subject. (I was just in calgary so i know how hard it is to isolate the gorgeous statues/artwork there.)

Thanks so much for the comments. The horses really grew on me as I sorted out the pictures I had taken and decided which ones to process, and then which ones to share. It was only at that point that I looked into the artist's bio and found the name of the installation. I also thought it would be interesting to light paint or use flash at night with the textures and colors. Some other time perhaps.
