I gave stand development a try for the first time last night. I am reasonably happy with the results but I would love some feedback...

I don't know what 'stand development' is, but I like that ceiling shot :)

It's a way of developing film.
It's VERY hard to give useful feedback on this process using different images on the web. There's way too many variables imo. They would need to be the same image, developed differently and seen IN PERSON or across a set of identically calibrated monitors.
The only thing we can comment on is the image as a whole.
I quite like the tones in shots 2-3. Some extra DB play would make both prints sing. Both could use a contrast boost imo (shot 2 more than 3).
Hope that may help - Marko

#2: Terrific portrait! Even though it's cold outside, there's an amazing amount of warmth radiating from this image.

#3: Beautiful ceiling! If you could reposition the camera so that the circle is dead centre and all lines and shapes out from it are symmetrical, I could look at this image for hours. I'd agree that boosting the contrast would add a lot and you might also crop out the vignetted dark corners.

#4: Do you have any other images taken here with an increased depth of field? I'm dying to know what's happening down the street - that's where my eye travels along the lines of the fencing.

Thanks again for posting these images, especially #2 - I love it!

I still don't understand what stand development is, but I like these. Especially the portrait and the ceiling.

nicely done Brendan!

Asnow -stand development is an alternative to traditional B&W development. Normal process- load film in tank and add developer (liquid of say a dilution of 1+9 - 9 being the water). Develop the film for 7.5 minutes agitating for the first 30 seconds of every minute. Stand development has a greater dilution, say 1+99 - again 99 parts being water and usually only agitates once or twice in the first couple of minutes and then you let it "stand" for the next 58 (or whatever protracted time your particular recipe calls for) minutes untouched, then finish with stop, fixer and wetting agent.

Thanks for the feedback, @doug L the vignetting is from using a DX lens on the film body, I am trying to figure out how often I use my WA lens to see if I can justify buying a new one for the film body. I am planning to make a return trip to this church and I will be better prepared next time...
