I haven't been doing landscapes much and found myself sort of out of the groove the other day when I headed to the coast with my friend Jeff for a sunrise shoot. Unfortunately even though the forecast was for partly cloudy, there wasn't a single one in the sky. Luckily we knew of many rocky beaches. Still, it wasn't doing it for me and so I moved and found this grassy stretch. I really like what the early sunlight did. It was foggy and so I think more subtle than usual. I really have to lose my phobia of wet feet.

I left my tripod in a high position all morning and it was really a different experience for me.

Indeed ... what got into you? Love the mood in this one. Dig the colours. Nicely spotted.

yeah I know huh? But foliage season is rapidly approaching so I have to get back in the swing. Here's one from a few minutes earlier up the beach.

Two nice pics. The colours in the grass in that first one though are very nice.

how's the view from up high WD?? ;)
Both are lovely but I really love the second one - I love the contrast of rock texture and smooth water and the way the lines take me to the misty horizon

thanks guys.
it's friggin' weird having the tripod up so high.
the color was pretty subdued that morning...just misty pink as the sun crested. that was about it.
