Hi,

Have taken these near a hill station near Mumbai...

Wen i c these photos i know i am missing something..Wat could I have done differently? I understand sharpness is missing from all of them.

This is my first post and any opinions would be greatly appretiated.

Thank you
Anuj

Hi Anuj,

First thread of yours so here's just a few basics. When uploading to this site, pics need to be 275K or less or else the board software compresses them and sharpness suffers. (That might have happened here as the first 2 shots do not look sharp.)
In general posting only 1-2 pics per thread will get you fuller critiques.

The last shot is the most interesting of the 3 to my eye based on the gesture of the girl's hand (Kind of a "whatever" or "see ya" gesture )and the overall sharpness and comp. Foreground is dark to my eye though.

Hope that helps!

Welcome to the forum!!

In the first image, do you see anything interesting in the foreground? If so, it might be a good idea to increase the brightness SLIGHTLY of some of the things on the wall inside the room and the ground, just so that the viewer gets a rough idea of what's inside the room (even if they see only dark contours, shadows, etc...). The total silouhette effect of your photo make it feel very closed and confining (unless that's the effect you want).

In the second image, was it raining? Maybe bring up the contrast on the raindrops as they fall on the puddle (or zoom in and try to focus on a 2 or 3 rain drops when you take the picture next time). Again what effect are you looking for?

@Marko

In the 3 rd pic, I felt that Darker foreground to lighter background(opening between buses) wud make good contrast..Infact I cropped the pic by 10% to remove bit of sky to make it a bit more darker...plus frame the girl(my fionce) between bridge ,buses and tiled ground... thank you for different perspective...

@ kevin,

The first photo was taken in an abondoned hotel(theyve got bigger building behind this one)...Wanted to go in n click few more pics but not so friendly group of street dogs had made that room their home.....I clicked the photo because I found the curtain on window bit intresting..however i agree its not enough...

In second pic, yes it was very slightly drizzling' could barely c it though...The cement beam bridging the puddle seemed intresting

Thank you Very much for your opinions..
