I spotted this old camper van on the camp-site a couple of days ago and thought it looked pretty cool.12945

Every hippies dream. The VW microbus - camper version. This being a real old one, since the newer models had the roof tilt up with the sleeping area under it ... this one just pops open so one can stand up in it. Really like the framing in this shot. quite nicely done!

Oh, I'd like one of those camper vans. When I retire in a few years I want to travel the country and take pictures. Hell, I spent almost an entire year living in a tent with my various travels. This would be luxury in comparison.

great shot and I love the processing! Snow- you can always camp in my yard if you make it to the east. :)

Thanks everyone.... there's something special about these old camper vans, seems like they have more soul than there newer counterparts. I watched the owner packing away, she was wearing matching clothes, white trousers with a purple top, I wish I had had my camera ready to take her portrait.

Lovely shot Richard. The lighting of the scene just adds to the nostalgic feel of this. Very well executed.

As a ten-year-old I spent a glorious 8 weeks one summer travelling around Europe in one of these (my parents were there too :P). It may be my faulty memories but the one we had had a pop-up roof like this (not at an angle) but inside the pop-up roof were two roll-out hammock-type things.
