I was in Cape Breton for work and decided to drive to a place called 'Mira Gut'. Along the road I spied this little gem. I pulled over and took some shots. Here are three:

peering in the door. I was able to put the camera on the frame and take a 3 shot hdr:

and a close up of the alter-that's an organ:

I liked the contrast of the green and the grunginess.
I have more, I just haven't processed them yet.

Cool set, Bambi. It's amazing what one can find if one does not just "drive by". Very interesting stuff. Love the HDR shot, awesome!

That's a fantastic find. Too bad there are creatures in the world who would do such senseless damage to a structure that could have offered some great photographs for a lot of people over time.

Cool shots. sad to see it in that shape, can only imagine what it would have looked like with some stain glass in the windows.

Thanks all! Andrew, I suspect that the glass, pews and other stuff was removed by the church. There was no broken glass or debris to suggest otherwise.

Mira Gut is a birder's hot spot also. You can get pretty twisted around there though on those roads. Fall is a great time in that area. Keep that in mind if you come back in October.
