I was trying to capture a little of the essence of Hong Kong here, this is a shot taken on Queen's Road right in the middle of downtown HK. The trams have been a feature of the streets of HK since 1904.

The background buildings are the Bank of China Tower (famously designed by I. M. Pei) on the left, and the Cheung Kong Centre on the right (Cheung Kong is the holding company of a stinking rich guy named Li Ka Shing, and until recently owned Orange the mobile phone company).

The corner of the building on the right is the original headquarters of Standard Chartered Bank until about the 1980s.

Fun stuff and nice framing.

You might want to check out the work of Fan Ho.

Thanks for the comment! Sorry if I wasn't very clear, I am from Hong Kong but now live in the UK, so I'm already familiar with Fan Ho, both his photographs and (some) of his movies. I also have his book 'Hong Kong Yesterday' (which is brilliant, and fantastic value at US$65 (http://www.modernbook.com/fanho.htm), btw). This photo was taken on a trip home a couple of months ago to visit my parents and introduce them to my second son. :)
