The Google earth photos currently show this once proud vessel sitting moored in the passage. The updated photos by google will show a different scene I think ...

Great B&W's M.A. The textures and contrasts in the second photo are especially nice!

The 2nd one works well for me, great detail and the closer crop focuses nicely on the derelict nature of the boat while still showing that it is half submerged.

Thanks both. The 2nd one certainly was the real shot. I took the other just an overall view.

I really like the tones and composition of the 2nd one. I don't quite understand why you said "The updated photos by google will show a different scene I think..."

And it shows. The knotted rope, holes, and peeling paint tell the story that the title emphasizes. Well done!

Thanks Iggy.
Asnow ... right now you can see this boat floating proudly on the passage if you use Google earth ( use these cordinates 26°54'17.44" S 153°04'30.33" E in the search) but next time they update the maps obviously the boat is not going to be floating.

Now I understand. Google shows it floating. Thanks for the explanation.
Sad for the boat (and I guess the owner), however it makes for a much better picture.
