As I said - I love this rose color very much

My rose is called "Nigrette" and her breeding history tells, that she is the first bred "black rose" here in Schleswig-Holstein. Maybe she is an ancestor of EdG's "Black Baccara"?!
love your perspective and DoF. No doubt in my mind that this rose and the baccara share a lineage.

Beautiful specimen captured in all her splendour MM. Plus a little tidbit of history here.
"The original black rose was named Nigrette and was developed by a German man named Max Krause in the 1930s. The original plantings of this rose are part of the largest rose collection in the world, located at the Europa-Rosarium in Sangerhausen, Germany. The Nigrette rose is still the darkest variety, but it is rare and not suitable for general usage because the stalks are very fragile".

Lovely shot, MoinMoin. The velvety softness is almost touchable.

That I can really attest. I have my Nigrette nearly 3 years - but she is one of my "problem roses". She is still a bit puny although without any typical rose illnesses.
