Well, finally moved in, (but still unpacking). Been here a week now and starting to finally get settled in. Went for a short drive around the block and took camera with us. Not the best work, but gives an idea of the area.

The back 65 acres, freshly planted in Canola. (should look really cool when blooming)

River that runs through back of property.

Just a pic of the ditches.

Lake couple roads over about 3 miles back in bush. One of several full of Walleye and pike.

Very nice, I'm envious of all that land. We all live someplace special but sometimes take if for granted. After spending $@& years in Calgary the mountains were nothing extraordinary and now living on Vancouver Island the neat stuff is becoming common. Need to appreciate it more. Anyway, I'm sure the river, lake and forests will keep you busy with the camera for some time to come. Keep us in mind as you explore and take pictures.

Thanks a lot to all for the kind comments and congrat's, and yes we both really appreciate where we live, now, and in the past.
If you look at the first pic you will see a swath of grass at the back of field, left side, between dirt and bush. Well we just got home 30 minutes ago and looked back, and there was a sow and two cubs grazing on the grass/weeds there. Have seen 7 bears & 1 Timber-wolf in the last week. This includes a massive bruin that was the largest black bear either of us have ever seen. Walked right up road in front of us two nights ago. (this was only half mile from home also)

... anywhere you like MA, there's lots of room.

Anytime you want, come on over, you're more than welcome. The neighbour just brought in a D7 Cat to make his airstrip so he can fly up here on weekends, so may be able to fly right in next door.

And fish?? Are there fish too?

What would you like? We have Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, & Northern Pike in the river that runs right through our property, plus Brook Trout in all its tributaries. There are Lake Trout in many lakes/rivers also.
Also, one of the rarest and most beautiful of all trout, "The Aurora", is found only in this area. Check out this link, Aurora Trout (http://www.auroratrout.com/)
Still boat shopping right now though, can't get anything too big, so to get into the small back lakes.

Unreal! What a place to live! Those Aurora Trout sure are pretty for a fish!
