I just joined the Photography.ca forum to get inspiration ... Here is what the April's challenge inspired me today. Comments will be appreciated. I am also looking for ideas for inspiration for days where I dont know what to shoot

I quite like the lighting here fortinphoto, very dramatic.
On the nit side though, I find it hard to connect with the subject though because of the closed eyes I find it hard to imagine what might be going on (to create a story for myself) because the whole environment is dark....i think I'd be able to connect more if the eyes were open and lit slightly brighter but perhaps staring off into space. Just my take on this though...

Closed light and eyes closed was something that I tried to relate together. Agree that I could have added something to convey more emotion if not from the eyes ... at least from composure. Something I will keep in mind! Thanks again for the feedback.

It doesn't bother me that the eyes are closed as long as it's obvious that's what they were meant to be. After all ... sleeping or even states of relaxing tend to require eyes to be closed ;)

Due to the lack of environment I think I would used a Portrait aspect as opposed to this landscape aspect. This would allow the face to be bigger in frame and allow the light to dissipate further down the frame.
