Some of our early wildflowers are actually shrubs -
Rhodora - like fireworks or explosions in flower form

and bog laurel (which I hope to photograph better tomorrow)

both grow in swampy or boggy areas, sometimes side-by-side which I hope to find tomorrow when I explore a new bog (well, new to me anyway, I suspect it's a few thousand years old). :rolleyes:
