As my interest in photography is growing, I feel it's time to expand on the hardware part. Atm I've got aprox 4 000 NOK (around 560 USD) that I wanna spend on anything useful, but since I'm not really into photography equipment, some help would be useful :)
I currently own a Nikon D40x with a NIKKOR18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G plus a tripod. No filters or extra flash.
The lens I'm currently using has IMO a bit too little zoom, so a new lens is high on my wish list.
Any help is really appreciated :)

i hear the 50mm 1.4 or 1.8 lenses are really good.
and a polorizing filter...
or an off body flash & some reflectors.
or a tri-pod too if you need...
happy shopping!

Guess I should add that I'm mostly shooting out in nature and whatever I find there, not so much people/portraits.
If you have any links as well, that would be great :)

Considering your budget... I'd grab the Nikon 55-200VR... it's cheap and very sharp for the price...
you will have change left over to buy a polarizing filter and hot shoe flash as kiley suggested....

Thanks :)
I think I'll go for the 50-200mm, some filters + a flash, any particular that you want to recommend?

minimum of SB600..... but if ur keeping the D40x for a while and plan on one day using multiple flash than SB800....
because of your budget I'd be looking to pick up a used one on ebay or equiv... check your local craiglists....
the filter you want a cpol to start....

Found this on sale in a local store, any thoughts on it?

If it's not that good, I'll probably end up with the nikon 50-200mm or 70-300mm.

OK, so I got hold of a Nikon 55-200mm for a little more than 100 bucks (lucky me :D ), and I'm thinking of getting some filters. I've been locking into some CPOLs (or should I buy something else?), but they vary from $15 to more than what I spent on my lens, so I need some help here :)
