Hi folks

I tried some action shots of my son jumping his bike. The full colour one was the best of the batch (I didn't find the right shutter aperature balance to blur the back ground yet have my son stay sharp). Trying to make the best of this situation I created the blended photo. I was inspired by the colour blend on the bike. What would you folks do with this shot (besides deleting it)?

cheers

The kid is a little blury + I'd like to see some more colors in the background/crop it. At the moment, there is too much blury background (you don't really need that much to sell the effect).

I do though like the way he is hanging in the air.

As for retouching it, you could try to saturate it a little, crop it to place the kid at the rule of thirds. You could also try to go ahead and make some more contrast between the kid and the background.

I've done some bike pictures myself, I'll see if I can get myself to post one or two :)

I like the effect, good effort. Panning is a difficult to technique and takes a bit of practice. I agree with the points made by fante; keep at it!

have you done any post processing to the kid yet? you may try selectively sharpening him up a bit, to make him look more clear. good attempt!
