Level 2 assignment this month is Macro or close-up.

I have a Nikon D5000 .. not the most expensive camera, and this was shot with the 150mm Sigma Macro lens. :shrug:

So I tried shooting a drop of water hitting a water surface .... boy oh boy, much to learn. So I suppose your glass should be absolutely CLEAN, no fingerprints, no droplets, no nothing on it .. and maybe there should be a bit of colour, or an ice cube, or SOMETHING, and maybe one should have the water real CALM and CENTER the freaking drop ...and and and .... but here it is, anyways ... I do like the bottom of the glass though, nice silvery effect.

Cin Cin on her playstand. She had a real nice natural light from the window lighting her. Not a macro but it is a close up. :)

Very cool shots.

While my type of macro photography is not quite as dramatic, I do like taking photos of small stuff with my other hobby of building scale models. This is the back end of a Panzer IV tank. The fuel cans are about as big as your thumbnail to give a bit of reference.

Normally I do a lot of close up or macro, but not lately. This one from Tuesday is about the only one -

I think it was a good winter for trees, so many of the birches are busting their britches this way.

Hey all! I see alot of very nice/creative shots in here this month. I don't have a macro lense so I went out on the deck with my 50mm and had a go at snowflakes landing on the BBQ. I put them thru LR3 and came up with this one. Hope you like!

Very cool, aubintbay. What a very awesome capture of some snow flakes. Around here they're mostly just mush, I've never been able to get a decent shot like this.

An installation on Prince's Island. Each marble is a work of art unto itself and appears to be endlessly intricate. Sun was behind these shots, so they are backlit.

I realized that I hadn't yet got any assignment pictures done. Went out to get a park picture and closeup. This seems to be the best closeup I came up with.
