Most every fishing village on the BC coast that had a packing plant or a cannery had one or more ice houses. With consumer demand for fresh product and the introduction of modern onboard freezers compact enough to fit the smallest boat along with a reallocation of the fish resource from the commercial fleet to the commercial recreational fishing sector they're slowly disappearing. Omega Packers is one of two left in the village where I live. Nice just before sunset light.
