For us Canadians buying from the states I found out that if the package is small have it shipped Express instead of regular, not only do you get it faster they don't charge a brokerage fee like they do with regular. So in the end it is usually less expensive this way.

As far as I know both work it's the 'inexpensive we won't deliver until we said we would even though your package has been here for three days method' is the one where you pay the ridiculous brokerage fee.
