I like the comp here. Did you reduce the colours? Or is that how they were?

Thanks MA...I desaturated it a bit to give it a bit of a nostalgia flair. :)

Very nice Casil, really like this.
So what is the story on Carousel? Is it an original, or re-production? Any more pics?

Thanks HBG.:) It was an extra off hand image I took when I was out shooting the "Living Statues" for my friend over the holidays and posted in another thread.
It is in the foodcourt area of the mall and I got this info from the website:

The Chinook Carousel is a restored 1930's 'Little Beauty Merry Go Round' manufactured by the Allan Herschell company of New York. This Merry Go Round has been part of the Conklin Shows' route, playing fairs and festivals for over 65 years.

32 feet in diameter
20 carved, wooden jumping horses
800 lights

Many of the fixtures that appear today on the Merry Go Round are from the original manufacturer. The new Chinook Carousel theme was conceived and implemented by master craftsman Konstantin von Waldburg, who specialized in carousel and carousel related wooden objects. He apprenticed in restoration of statues, church interiors gold leafing, fresco painting, cabinet making and wood sculpting. The Chinook carousel is a fine example of his craftsmanship.

Definitely worth going back for a reshoot sometime. :)

Thanks for taking the time on the history Casil.
Love the looks of the "real" carousels as from what your image showed, it looked like a restored original. I definitely hope you do get to reshoot this, and post some more images.

Very nice. I like the old wooden horses. Everyone is different. I'm in Calgary and wish I had brought my camera.

These are looking fantastic shiny - I wish I could sit on one of these horses! Great shot, Casil!
