I'm in the midst of processing some shots of an old WWll site here on the coastline. These were part of an elaborate system of coastal defense posts surrounding the local harbour. They were used mainly for watching for submarines that were waiting outside for vessels to leave port as a part of a larger convoy heading to Europe with wartime supplies. My mind started thinking of the Christmas season and about how many Christmas' were spent far from home by the people who manned these places. Even today we have some of our finest people in far away places spending their Christmas season parted from family and loved ones. I've processed this trying to get the feel of desolation that I'm sure they must have felt and I'm sure they feel today. Perhaps we can take a second or two over the holidays to think of these people, past and present, who have guarded our freedoms so that we may celebrate and enjoy this festive season. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and the hope of a prosperous and joyous New Year . . now go party

Seems like a long time, no post. Glad to hear from you and see some new images. I love the tones in this one. This feels a bit like a JJJ shot with the texture you are using and the bird in this shot.

Happy Holidays and I hope you have a wonderful New Year.
