podcast suggestion : full frame image sensors

Hello hope I am doing this right I am sort of new here :) any way I know full frame camera's are way out of my budget lol but I don't really understand what they are? and why they are better? would you mind covering this in one of your podcast Marko?

also I love!!! your podcast its very nice and best I have found on internet about photography IMO I love the personal touches you add :)

Yup you posted this in the right place and thanks so much for the compliments!

If you want me to cover this in a podcast it's my pleasure...BUT if you posted this question in the BB you'd likely get the same answers as I'd cover in a podcast and much faster. (It would take me at least 3 weeks to get to this one)

Most podcasts 'teach' something but this one would really just be descriptive.

So let me know, if you prefer for me to still cover it or if you'll simply post the question. Either choice is FINE by me, no worries at all.

You could maybe include in that the difference between the DX lenses and normal lenses, cause your DX lenses will vignette on a full frame sensor, quite a lot I'd imagine.

Maybe also some additional sensor information?

i was just trying to figure this out last week. i noticed that someone with a full sensor camera was using a 85mm lens for something when it wouldn't work for me. i have the canon 30d with a 1.6 crop. so i decided to finally try to understand the difference.

To compensate, i use wider angle lenses. the canon 28mm f/1.8 is my portrait lens, while someone with a full frame would use a 50mm.

with a 1.6 cropped sensor a 28mm lens shows me as much as a 44.8 lens would on a full frame camera.

28 x 1.6 = 44.8

I must say though that the community that's being slowly built here is the exact GOAL I had when I started this forum about 5 years after this site went online. You never know what the 'pulse' of a forum is going to be until it's online. Some forums are not at all friendly and are especially unfriendly to newbies. That's SO not the case around here and it's the members that have brought the warmth that makes this forum sing.
