This is a really well done shot Kiley :highfive:
Nice colour, composition and feel. Sky could be burnt in, but it's actually not that distracting for me. Nice Job!

i heard somewhere that the Peace River is older than the Grande Canyon...
heres a better angle of the valley.

...(and yer right, maggies got tree stumps for legs - i give her a boot cut hair do)

Interesting shots TT, as well as taking advantage of a graduated orange filter for the sky. Try flash on a group of leaves. It really separates them from the background and brings out the colours. With a polarizer on, it makes the flash colour look more natural.

I knew you would be wise to my ways Tegan! ;) The sky was totally uninteresting so I vamped it up a bit.
Sadly, I do not have a reliable flash for my camera. :( As soon as I get one, I will try that suggestion though! Thank you, Tegan!

Scorpio - To me, the tree in the middle is a wee bit of a distraction. I love the colors of the tree and the interesting texture at the fore.

Funnily enough, we barely touched the saturation on that first shot. :) This year had so much rain in our parts that the colours are absolutely vivid! {alot of sugar = alot of colour in the leaves ;) }

hi tekguy! nice colors in this shot, but i think you may have missed the focus. it seems a bit blurry, but that may be from resizing? and you may want to remove unpleasant dead buds from the bouquet next time... :)

Last weekend i was able to go up to Georgetown and go on Guenella pass with all the aspen trees. I wanted to mess around with HDR. Here are some results.

I thought of that but I figured...fall...everything is kinda dying/going into hybernation...thought the dead ones were kind of along with the theme...:)

Good point! Very pretty wilderness photos too! the bottom one - the vertical tree to the viewers left with out any leaves is kind of a distraction but i can see how you wanted it in the image...maybe as an anchor for the photo for the water movement....

hi & welcome wymasa!
thats a really unique perspective, composition & subject! i love it!
it might be something else, but is that a thumb in the upper lefthand corner?!;):D
good submission :)

Thanks and haha yes, that is probably what it was. I was turned around taking the picture from an odd angle while sitting. So it was probably a thumb or perhaps even a pinky. :(

- I like the sheep shot fante but wish you had gotten a bit closer...I'm guessing sheep scare easily though
- TT - I like the experimentation
- Scorpio_e - I like the orange in the background, and agree with TT on the tree in the bkgd
- tekguy22 - I like the angle. Shot doesn't seem sharp enough though, and a bit oversaturated on my monitor.
-Captureevermore - I like the rushing water and especially like the part in both images where the rock peers out from the water.
- Wymasa - I like the lines in this shot and your take on the assignment. Left side seems a bit too bright though.
Nice shots everyone! Keep submitting seconds and thirds if you like!
Theme changes in under a week.

So I went out for a walk this morning, and seeing as there's plenty of leaves around, I figured it might be an opportunity to submit something here... :)
Rise and Fall
http://www.benhall.co.uk/pics/fall01.jpg
I got these from lots of different angles - had some nice ones where the sun rise rays were illuminating a fallen tree, making the "rise and fall" theme even stronger, but in the end I went for this one.

I have to admit though, in retrospect, what might make it *really* cool would be to have some kind of subject in that corner foreground light, with perhaps a bit of fill flash to illuminate the front side.
Either a person, or some inanimate object, like a pumpkin or something (not that we do that here in the UK). I'm reminded of Rick Sammon's phrase "Making a picture, rather than taking a picture"...

Wow, you have beautiful scenery over there in Canada! Your images are so inspiring. I can't wait to get out of town; it's been a long while since I got to see the horizon.
I thought I'd get my feet wet and start taking part in the assignments. I haven't decided on which camera to get yet, but I did get some autumn'ish snaps off when I was testing a lens during a lunchtime break the other day.

Just had some nice light in the garden, which brought out the colours in the trees, so I grabbed my camera for a quick shoot - the light was gone in about five minutes, so it was just as well...
