Overlooking Coffs Harbour in New South Wales, these chains once held ships to their moorings in days long gone ...

Nice. Reminds me of some chain shots I took last year at a beach after a wicked storm...they were all sand-encrusted. Yours has a more pleasant bg. Nicely blurred. Makes the chain look more macho. ; )

I love the rusty texture of all these shots.

Nice photo's. We have some of the same here but I've never thought of taking a picture of one. I need to learn to see more which is why I joined some of the web sites. Thanks.

Thanks WD, Bambi, Marko and Andrew.
These were cool chains. There were two of them, both of about 4 links each. Each link about 30cm (12 inches) from end to end.
Sweet! I prefer shot 3 :)

You'll pick the B&W every time huh Kat ;)

Like both #1 and #3 for different reasons.
#1- Very nicely composed shot, very artistically shot.
#3- Look at this one, and draws me back to the days when they would have been in use, and think of what great ships have used these through the ages.

I vote for #1. There is a nice contrast of the chain links to the surrounding landscape.

Love all three MA, but #2 is a hit for me. Love the framing and the dof. Beautiful.
