I wanted to get more light into the eyes, but this proved to difficult being the photographer and model.

A very dramatic self portrait Richard. To get more light into the eyes any white surface taped to a wall in front of you (to reflect the light coming from behind) could likely have bounced some of that light back into your face. Also your glasses are a bit too low. Hope that helps - Marko

Thanks for the tips Marko, definitely a big help. :D
I'll have to give it another go at some point.

Nice shot. It will be even better when you redo it with Marko's suggestions.

Thanks guys, I hope to get round to re-shooting soon, I just need to wait for a night when the wife is out so I can take over the lounge.

You may have failed with the eyes but everything else is excellent. Love the skin tones, sharpness and overall lighting angles.

cheers MA, I'm still waiting on a free moment for the re-shoot. I've just got to be careful with the light on the left, as it cause my glasses to cast a shadow over the eye.
