I am not sure if this image works or not and looking for a second opinion.

This works for me. The shadow on the left and the shadows of the tree, plus the different exposures (bright and dark) make the subject of the picture the window(s) stand out. The only thig thing is I find the two windows competing with each other. Plus the upper window has the appearance of being a little bit cut off at the top. Also the B&W adds to the mood.

Thanks Asnow I appreciate the comments,I am not sure myself of this image because I feel the shadows are overpowering and make the image a bit messy with too much round the outside.You mentioned the widows competing which is a interesting point too, anyhow I am happy for the feedback and that's the reason I have posted it here.

For me I think the composition is where the most improvement can be gained. I find the bright light area onthe right of the shot to be distracting so I'd have framed this so we couldn't actually see down that side of the structure.

Possibly ducking down a bit lower and shooting up at the structure might have helped to show a bit of height and give a less unseen perspective as well.

Some of those brighter bricks/blocks look a bit blown out also so perhaps some burning or a lower exposure might have been better.

Having said all that, this was a VERY tough shot to shoot at this time of day with this light. The dynamic range looks to be well beyond what the camera is capable of handling.

I really like the mood here! For me the main distraction is the bright light to the left of the lower window. I'd tone that down if it's not too clipped. I'd also tone down the brightness on the lower right. The shadows on the castle are creating a mood - but then the brightness is stealing it. Not sure how easy it is to fix but it's a strong image.

Thanks Mad Aussie and Marko your comments are appreciated.I agree with what you say about the bright lights and I think also like you said MA it would interesting to try and get better perspective too, in the mean time I ll try and adjust the image using photoshop if not I can always go back as it is near to where I live.
