So a local ecology non-profit has inquired about some of my photos (funnily enough on a thread that got nary a response...tee hee). They would like to use them for newsletters etc. I know google is my friend, but wonder if any of you are using a limited release for your photos and are willing to share it. I'm cool with them using the shots, but do not want to relinquish my ownership or right to use them elsewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know much about limited release but I just wanted to offer my congrats on publication. :) WTG!
Can't you just make sure they give you photo credit on anything that they use?

Sorry we missed the original thread... please point it out as I'd love to see them.

I post pretty much all my images on Flickr and I use the Creative Commons licensing. Details on the license is here: Creative Commons — Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.0 Generic (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.0/)

This license says that they cannot profit from using your images (non-profit society wouldn't likely be profiting), however, they can use them freely as long as they don't alter them and as long as they provide attribution (i.e. they give you credit).

Frankly, anyone can have my images if it makes them feel good. If there is money to be made, however, I would prefer that I get a cut!

thanks guys. I'll check out the link Iguanasan. No money involved, for them or me and that's ok. I like the fact that they're a conservation entity for a river I see almost daily.

Oh and it's the Off the Bridge or From the Bridge thread.
