View Full Version : Pont-neuf (he is old)
I've taken that one in Toulouse (SW France). I found the archs repetition quite intersting. Please tell me if it works for you. I've the feeling that the subject may not be strong enough in itself (I don't know if I made myself clear :D). Maybe I should lighten the bridge and water part of the picture ?

I'd crop most of the sky out; there is nothing in it but gray. The real drama is in the arches, so punch up the contrast a bit and yes, lighten it somewhat. Composition is well executed, and the detail is there, though a tad on the soft side. However this does not bother me since the theme works well in b&w and does not really warrant super sharpness.
Okay ! Thanks for the comment Matt ! Here's a new version I increased contrast and exp. I also cropped the sky as you said. Sharpness issue may also come from the grain I added, I tried to reduce it a bit and increased accentuation.
Once more thanks for the feedback !
