Taken on a cloudy day in Pembrokeshire, West Wales.
Used a ND Graduated filter to bring down the sky a bit.
Converted to B&W and burned in some detail.

Comments welcomed.

Hi Taffy ... been awhile I think.

Nice photo. I like the soft feel to it and the composition is very good too I think. The aspect ratio of the crop suggests you may have cropped out some of the sky. If so, was that to avoid a blown out section of sky or something? I think I would have liked to see just a bit more of that moody sky.

Is that horizon dead level? I think it might dip just slightly to the right. The water will drain before you get to show it to anyone else :)

Thanks MA.

I did crop out a large part of the sky, mainly because there was not much detail and it did not add anything to the photo IMO.

You are right about the horizon, I have now straightened it and it does look better.

Now have it as a lrge print I will put on the wall.

Cheers

Excellent critique but I just want to chime in and add my response to this image. I love the feeling of isolation and solitude it evokes. Makes me think of an "end of the world" scene where the last person on Earth dies and the camera pans to the never ending ocean. Wonderful expression here.

I really like this one as well. many many ways to print a shot like this.
If it were mine, I might like to see deeper blacks in the sand and so i would up the contrast in that area, I'd sharpen it a bit more as well. Doing those 2 things would make the path more defined imo. Lovely image again!

Having looked at all the comments I have reworked the same RAW file and come up with the attached.

Comments welcome as to whether this is an improvement on the earlier version?

Thanks

In the improvement, on the right side, theres something black poking out. A little distractig. Perhaps crop that out?
