Nice! Very cool processing and the whole deal, Michael! Are you landing airplanes in your spare time? It looks that close!

You've found a very cool spot! I love these. I'm going to have to head out to our local airport some time and see what I can get.

very nice Michael. Did you have security watching you again?

Nice shots maw! way cool!

Bambi makes an excellent point, be very careful. You are a a photographer which means you might also be a terrorist. ;) I don't believe they give you Internet privileges in Guantanamo bay.

Looks like those shots a terrorist would take, that is as long as he was sure he wouldn't be mistaken for a photographer

Thanks everyone:) Obviously I pushed these in post but I feel it justified. If you hang out at the end of the runway, you get to glance these big birds landing all the time and as they whoosh over your head you get a sense of the magic Orville and Wilber started a hundred years and change ago. What one tends to see is a high powered, brain driven, captained by emotion rendition of big machines as art if you will. To freeze the moment and draw out the details gives me more insight as to how it all happens. I can see the leading edge of the wing is set up to alter the airflow and how the flaps are extending the width of the wing to compensate. The 16 wheels are ready and poised to render a controlled crash a perfect landing. As for security, once again they could care less. When the Olympics packed up its tent and left town we are once again easy pickens for terrorists  Nobody gives a hoot if you're sitting on the back of an indian elephant with a Hasselblad, just as long as you're not too drunk and stay outside the fence, nobody cares!

There used to be a group of women that got together and rated the landings of the aircraft. They would flash numbers just like the gymnastic judges to the tower. I can't remember which airport it was, Daily Planet had a story on it years ago. Pilots would ask for their scores.
