this thing looks awesome!!!!!!!! .... though I guess the next model [D100 probably] would fine tune all the new features like HD Video recording

Yes the D90 looks to be a great consumer camera. Nikon has recently had a prosumer camera called the D100 so I don't think they'll use that... They don't seem to use much logic with their camera naming.

point of information.. the D100 is really popular in crime scene forensic photography. It's a great camera - used my many police agencies here in the states

I very much like the idea of video on thiis camera. Shooting a wedding for example, allows the photographer to instantly switch to video for segments at appropriate moments. Baby's first steps can also be caught in an instant switch over from photos to video.

By the way, I notice that the Nikon D90 can correct lens distortion by its in camera software. Obviously not a "style" for serious photographers. :D

Yeah Nikon names can be confusing at times .... a D81 would have made more sense than D90
for HD video 1080p would have been better :D
