I am new to this forum, discovered it a few days ago.
I recently received my macro lens 90mm f2.8 and tried it in my neighbor's garden.
I would greatly appreciate your comments.

Nice photo, although I don't think you need a macro lens to take one like this. Is it me or is the focus not quite on? I'm looking at the stamens. It looks like it could use a tad more contrast and maybe some cropping; the two flowers compete for attention too much. It's interesting if you just leave the petals of the left hand one in the frame and center the right hand one. JMO, but you asked. : )

A 90mm f2.8...is that a Tamron by any chance?

Welcome to the forum. I'll give you my :twocents: on the shot.

The colours look beautiful to me and the exposure looks pretty good too. What is sharp and in focus is done very well though I think you've missed the far petals on the flower on the left. The composition choice is not my favourite but it's not bad either.

HI Wicked Dark & Iguanasan,

Thanks for your comments.

I certainly did not need a macro lens for this, but I wanted to know how it worked.

I only added a bit of clarity and vibrance and adjusted the curve in PS. Should I have done something else.

The lens is not a Tamron it’s an old Panagor. I usualy use old manual lenses, this one was received last thuesday.

As for the far petal I should have checked the DOF but I needed to work fast since the sun was on and off due to fast moving clouds and working in full manual.

Don't fret too much. When you put something in the critique section we often try and point out what could have been done better. Keep in mind that what you have here is a very well done shot that could be just a bit better. :)
