They've started. As it gets farther along the ball will flatten out, until you have a red berry with smooth, shallow bumps all over it.

JAS, "pastry flower" is my nickname for them. The petals look like the corners should be pinched around the center, the way some pastries are around filling. I don't actually know what they're called.
Casil, I thought the first one looked like it was wearing a cloak, which amused me.
