:fingerscr Hey everyone. I'm new here and was hoping I could get some help with my photography. I love taking pictures and really hope to improve... I find the best way to learn is to learn by your mistakes so feel free to point them out, please... Thanks for looking!
1. My hubby wanted me to take a "old time" pic of him cutting wood... this is what I came up with... I added the noise in pp.

nice shots.
Tell hubby to use an old time method of cutting wood :)
That will be a work out.

LMAO! I never even thought of that.... hard to make an old time photo cutting wood with a chainsaw! Too funny!

that was my 1st thought as well - i was expecting an axe in mid-swing or something, definitely not a chainsaw!
in the 1st shot, your hubbys head & the trees directly behind him seem too dark, in contrast to the really light ends in the stack of wood. i really like the composition though.
the 2nd shot is nice, good rule of 3rds, looks like hes taking a break from chopping all that wood. if he lost the ballcap, that photo would be more 'old time' or timeless...

Agree with Kiley's assessment however I think perhaps the gentleman could be a little closer to the middle of the frame in #2; the way it appears to me right now is more like a 1/4 division vice a 1/3.
