hi everyone,
found this forum through the photography podcasts. i'm really looking forward to learning from everyone in the forum and perhaps even sharing some of my knowledge as well.:)
i love taking photographs, but am perhaps more versed in photoshop than raw technique:o i learned on film as a teen through an urban non profit organisation called the L.O.V.E. project, using cheap point and shoot cameras. about 3 or 4 years ago, i got my first used slr, a pentax mz60 and fell in love with photography all over again. i just got my first starter dslr (olympus e410) about 3 weeks ago and find that in some aspects i have to relearn things i had already mastered on my film camera. i was happy at least that although i can't interchange my pentax and olympus lenses that at least my filters fit on my new camera.
the podcasts have been extremely helpful and i wish i had downloaded the wedding photography one before i shot my first wedding (mid afternoon, at that:P)
everyone seems pretty friendlyand easygoing. i'm looking forward to meeting all of you.
Jess
