It was pouring on the way to work this morning so I thought I'd try some rainy day shots.

Really like shot 1 here Iggy - I think this one could benefit from extra pp. (My PP would be to brighten the red jacket, contrast play on the buildings and possibly cropping/cloning the 4 bright lights at left mid edge.)
Loads of additional play possibilities here - has a watercolour feel to it. In this case, the soft focus does not bother me 1 bit.

Thanks. The rain was teeming! I was half expecting to literally see cats and/or dogs! :) Focus was a little tricky as I had stuck my camera in a big ziplock bag to keep it dry. :)

You shot these through the bag then Iggy??
I like that 2nd shot for reasons I can't quite explain.

Yeppers! I pulled the plastic taught over the lens and put an elastic around it to keep it in place and taught. Then shooting I went. If it had been a light rain I wouldn't have worried about it and felt safe with just an umbrella or finding a little overhang somewhere.
I know the image suffered a bit but I don't have any kind of a waterproof housing and I figured better this than nothing at all :)
As for the 2nd shot. Thanks and me too; I just find it pleasing to my eye.

I think it's because the image has movement which seems to fit with the blur created by the bag.

Possibly. That was a pan and capture shot.

Just as an FYI - I've purchased the following 'rainsleeve' plastic bags for rain photography and they work reasonably well and are cheap. I always have 1 in my bag.
