See that pooling in the smoke? (soft focus filter) I hate it. Wanting to keep the soft focus effect, how do I get rid of it?:mad:

I like shot 1 very much!
Personally I think it stands stronger on it's own;without any border or phrase. - ok maybe a 2 -6 pixel border...:D

Great images, but agree, the border on #1 could stand to be reduced. A LOT. Images 2,3 very nice (Is that Hillcrest #2?). With respect to your question about the pooling, a higher resolution will help.

i really like #1 too - and agree about reducing the border. really nice green moving background!

for the 2nd and 3rd shots, they are pretty interesting. i'd prefer it if that guy werent wearing sunglasses, as thats the only thing thats dating the image. you coud also just crop off the top 1/3 of the shot, to remove that funny smoke. the train & trees are strong enough to stand alone.

I will try the higher resolution. The pooling thing happens on every photo that I dilly with. Drives me crazy.

The smoke shows that the train is an old steam engine. In real life it is black as black can be when they really toot the horn...

I got into use the borders because I was doing a lot of Smilebox slide shows on my blog . .... the program would chop off parts my image... i will try to remember to post them here without those ...

Kiley - I agree with the sunglasses. Actually, I lightened him up because he was deep in the shadow... I wonder if I left the shadow as is...I will play with that.
