This is really an amazing place, a former royal residence about 1hour far from my hometown, one of the largest royal residences in the world, comparable in size and structures to those of Versailles.
During the Napoleonic domination, the whole complexes were turned into barracks and the gardens destroyed to create a training ground.
Restoration works were begun and will last ages! Anyway in 2007 was open for tourism.
I was really lucky visiting in early morning with a good light and with few literally none visitors around instead of thousands.
Behind the palace… land art works and … huge gardens…. will follow next post ….

A very nice set. I love the planters, they look like snowmen militia standing at attention :)

The second one is nice.... is the same shot you will find in several books related to that place.
The called n2 'the Diana corridor'
Diana was the Latin goodness prayed for a good hunt, that palace was supposed to be for hunting times.
