Post your suggestions for September Assignments in this thread.

Remember we are doing 2 per month so add a couple of suggestions if desired.

My suggestions are:

#1 Inventive/creative use of Photoshop(or equiv) on an image. Outside the box image construction. Severe image manipulation.

#2 A portraiture of any kind

:twocents: idea... I suggest for these monthly assignments that stock images should not be allowed... for example images posted for September Assigments must be taken between Sept 1 - 30th...

:)

No, not worth two cents.. You may have all the time in the world, but not everyone can shoot the type of shot one week and submit it within a few days to stay in the two week time period. We have other responsibilities.

meh.... IMO these are classroom style assignments.. you can't just use your homework from last years class..

participation is optional.... if you are busy there is no obligation for submission....

what do others think??

I'd really to get involved in these assignments, are there any rules/guildelines or requirements at all guys?

heck no.... this is a learning environment..... feel free to post and make topic suggestions...

as you can see from this thread... I've pitched an idea that submissions be current... Tegans not a fan of it.... no one else has chimed in yet....

hmmm - tricky... i think the submissons should be as recent as possible, (the idea is to get out and experiment/learn now) but if someone has a super great shot that was taken earlier, they should be allowed to submit it.

i also like the severe image manipulation idea.

a couple other sept assignment ideas - back-to-school, changing seasons, (up north where i live, the leaves are already dropping to the ground!), and maybe everyone should submit their images in sepia tone... :p hahaha...

I'm also of the opinion that the shots should be done for the assignment, but it doesn't need to be a rule. Not too big a fan of rules, more of a guideline kinda dude.:)

I think we should still let people play :), besides, likely most people will be starting from scratch so most assignments will be current and fresh for people to talk about...plus maybe our collective enthusiasm will rub off ;)

I also like severe manipulation - that will be fun!

I also like the portraiture (thx travis!) idea and the changing seasons one...and the sepia one thx Kiley :highfive::)

any 2nds or thirds or 4ths or 5ths on the 2nd assignment?

My vote is to not restrict the photo stock to only images taken in Sept. I vote the photo manipulation. Maybe we can have everyone chose an image of their choice then guess what the techniques used , the one that comes the closest wins the right to be at the head of the class. Just an idea.
