Hi. I'm relatively new to your Podcasts so I'm not sure if I've missed this. But I'd really appreciate a podcast on how to clean and care for all this expensive equipment and how to spot faults, fungus etc and what to do. There seem to be a lot of very cheap cleaning kits out there and I'm not sure if they'd scratch the lenses or not.
Any chance?

Love the podcasts and look forward to putting it all into practise.

Hi Marko,

I heard podcast 51 and I like it. I hope I will be able to comment on it critically some day.

let me first ask the questions.

1. UV lens ??? Are they the same as UV filters I am a bit confused about the term lens
2. Microfiber cloth. I uses a sun glass cleaning cloth from Original Ray ban will that work or is a bad idea.

On the subject I just wanted to share my experience. I bought my camera second had from a guy.
When I was trying to do some shooting at smaller f/stops I saw that my sensor was as you see it on the BEFORE picture. It was so irritating to me and I was so frustrated but after some research (I used to work in the lab some years back) and reading from the net I decided to take the risk of cleaning my sensor.
I didn't use Ethanol because it has some kind of geasiness for me and used Methanol instead. Methanol is a bit dangerous for health should be noted.

I used cue tips. to clean it and I got a very good result for my knowledge the I thought I would share the experience and hope it is worth.

The before image is the one with spots. The after image is clean.

yes I was unclear...I meant to say UV screw on filter - not lens.

Thanks for sharing your technique. i have heard others using that same technique.

Thx
