    Default more from Lunenburg

    some more images:
Lunenburg Academy was a public school for many years. it sits at the top of the hill and has a view to die for. Built in 1895 it still serves as a school (I believe) for grades Primary through 6.

and across the street is the graveyard. Yes I appreciate the irony (as a brief aside there is another school in the county that was next to the county jail for many years. the jail is now closed but the school is still open )

I like the second shot of the graveyard. The tree in the centre of the frame has an eerie look to it and the black and white adds to the atmosphere. I'm partial to cemetery and monument pictures as I was a Cemetery Manager before retiring. There is some great architecture in old cemeteries which makes for some interesting pictures.

Totally agree with Rinkdaddy on the second shot - that tree looks like it could come to life.

Couple of nice shots there Bambi. I too like the second one. Funny, here's a perfect example of a blown highlight that works. It adds to the scene rather than taking away from it as far as I'm concerned.

The first is interesting as well but not having the entire building between the chains is a might distracting.

Oh Bambi you have no idea Before the school was built on that location the area was called Gallows Hill, because that is where the bad guys ended there days. It was there mainly because the cemetery is close by. Literally a view to die for.

Also the pink building across the road "The Wedding Cake House" has featured on the cover of a number of horror books.
