Yes I most always use manual....should I be using something else? On Photomatrix it suggests using aperture priority for HDR.

No. It just seems to me that the focus is a bit off. Do you use autofocus? I've learnt to turn it on to manual so that it's the same focus every shot. That or a slight movement in your tripod. I do that alll the time! I don't have autobracketing so I have to manual change my exposure every shot.
I use manual for my HDR as well but that is only recently. I used to use Aperture but then realized that I couldn't control my shutter speed for some shots (evening/water shots).
Either way, you are doing awesome for first HDR's! It's a technique on it's own and to this day there are times I could chuck photomatrix out!!![]()
