What makes this wine so special Jas and is it a fortune?
Is it good mixed with 7-up? (LOL)
Thanks all! Sassacaia is the premier wine from Tenuta San Guido, Tuscany, Italy. It consists of predominately Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes which makes it one of the so-called "Super Tuscans." It is the only wine from a single wine estate in Italy to have its own DOC. If you are interested in a few more details read here: Bolgheri Wine
The Club recently had an Italian wine dinner featuring the products of Tenuta San Guido:

Value on this wine is around $129.00 wholesale but you will not find it for that price. Restaurants, hotels, Clubs etc. with a relationship with the Wine Rep can have it allocated in Alberta for purchase from the main warehouse in St. Albert.
Photographer, wine expert, Tom Hyland writes about Sassacaia here:

Cin cin!
I don't drink, but I can relate to it because I'm an avid tea drinker. Only the best will do when it comes to flavor and enjoyment!
I like the second shot and I really like the 3rd one. Realist, I'm also a tea drinker. Got any suggestions for internet sources, because I'm not having any luck locally (keeps changing, some wasn't that good to begin with, one sold years ago and the new owner immediately changed the sources and blends. You could tell from the taste)
Offtopic - A friend of mine named Neil Gorman started this tea blog a while back if anyone is interested. There are resources to buy tea in the footer. Lao Ren Cha
Didn't realize that wine was so expensive Jas and i just looked at the SAQ (government run liquor store) and they do not carry it. They do carry a grappa for 101 dollars though.
I like the second one (with three bottles) and the third one (with 5 bottles) the best.
That is expensive wine. Here is the link in Ontario, LCBO, for that wine. As you see the 2009 is $179.95

Also off topic: Thank you, Marko and Realist. I'll take a look.
Really like that first one JAS, as it actually tells a little within it. Not just a bottle of wine, but one that is being enjoyed. Nicely executed.
