Rubbing Elbows With God
Had an impromptu trip to the coastal part of Georgia yesterday at work and ran across this great little building while on the way to a wildlife refuge just down the road from this. Pulled up to a gate at the refuge that said closed due to archery hunt so no pics from there but this chapel made it a worthwhile trip.
The sign says it is the smallest church in America. Not sure of how accurate that is but it is the smallest I have ever been in.

I could have really used a wide angle lens in here! This is the best I could manage with getting all of it.

Preacher: "Son, why weren't you in church last Sunday?"
Sinner: "I was there!!! You must have not seen me, I sat in the back."

Great church! I like the virgin of guadalupe statue ( she's the tall one on the left). An archery hunt in a wildlife refuge? hmmm seems pretty suspicious to me!

what a neat find!!! it's the smallest I've ever seen

I agree - nice find! Dig the interior shot.

What a groovy little place :) I wonder if they ever hold weddings there?

Cool little place, I just love the architecture of old and unique churches. My other comment about churches I will just bite my tongue.

The info pamphlet said there are weddings and baptisms there occasionally. Just don't bring many guests and it would have to be a sawed off shotgun.
