You haven't lived until you've held a duckling in your hands!!!
Mama wasn't interested in letting me get anywhere near that close. The only reason she came as close as she did was because I was in the shade and didn't move, and she wasn't quite sure what I was.
So what do they feel like?
You've really never held a duckling?
Holding a duckling is like holding a wish, a dream, but it's alive and real. There's almost no weight, just a feeling so soft and gentle it's like your first kiss or the caress of a summer breeze on your face.
It's like having tenderness itself resting in your palm.
It's a simple thing but I highly recommend it if the opportunity ever arises.
Beautiful little duck family and all the kids look so much like Mama!
Really cute shots QuietOne!
That was beautiful and you can ALSO use it to sell toilet paper. :footinmouQuote:

Now that there, was hilarious Marko.:highfive:
Yes I see MA is really showing his feminine side lately.
Vg captures, like the second one a lot.
Well in spite of MA having a total hormone meltdown I was wondering...Is it safe to hold a duckling? I've read some species will reject an offspring if it has a contaminate smell ie human
I just love tickling MA with the old feather when he's lying on his back with all paws in the air
The pictures of the ducklings are super. I really liked the first one where there's a symmetry to the group, kind of in pairs. The ensuing discussion...priceless. I'm still laughing.
Mike
Go to were they raise domestic ducks, same fluffiness, go on have an MA moment.
Oh hey ... I should mention before anyone goes ringing the Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ... I don't really wipe my butt with ducklings. That was a joke. And Kittens are far more effective anyhow!
Ohh..that shot two is soo cute! What a wonderful catch!
I would not try to capture a wild baby duckling to do the M.A. test on it but should you encounter a baby bird and for some reason need to touch it (as in it fell out of its nest or something like that) it is not likely the parents will reject it unless you do something that also freaks out the parents. But birds have very bad senses of smell and would not reject a baby because it has human scent on it.
