    Default A prickly fellow...

Just got back from a short walk with my dog up at Nose Hill park...I crawled though fairly dense thicket and snow up to my knees to get within less than 10 feet of this porcupine sitting quietly in a tree... we put doggy on leash when we spotted him...thank goodness!

They're quite docile little creatures actually...this guy didn't even move or acknowlege me as I crashed around the bush to get as close as I could. I am going to get up there again to find an easier one to get to...they like to climb trees and eat the shoots. I've seen them in trees there before.
This was a hard shot to get because of the conditions so I just threw it into "auto" and hoped for the best .
