Goin' Loony
We were down at the cottage with friends two weeks ago and got a few pics of the loons while out in the boat. They let us get quite close actually.
Posing in the early morning light with a little fog in the air.

Did I say we got close. No cropping, just straight out of camera.

Oh these are incredible. Love them all, can't pic a favorite. Maybe the third one by a nose ... but only a nose .... fantastic.
-
Wow, super set. Love them all. Super sharp eyes. Love the water colour in number 4 and of course the Mom and juvenile shot is priceless.
-
I've always loved loons- their call is very haunting. I love these captures- particularly the juvenile.
-
Champ pics as always...........#4 because of the water ripple in front of the loon........
-
What a great series. I love the feather detail on the head in #4. Its always nice seeing the juvies with the parents as well.
-
Thanks all, and glad you enjoyed them.
Yes Mike, that fourth shot was the only bird that had not made a dive yet, hence the dry head showing more detail.

Super Set HBG. 2 & 3 stand out to me.
-
a sweet job on the loons HBG

I fell in love with these guys when I worked in Main back in the late 80's. I'll take #4 for a hundred dollars, but would be proud to call any one of the set my own.
Ya know, if you keep at it, you're gonna get pretty good one of these days. ;)
