Life on a Daisy
It took me a while to discover the name of the tiny (2mm) patterned-winged fly on this daisy. Turns out it's a type of fruit fly, originally from Europe, introduced in North America to control Knapweed. It's called Urophora Quadrifasciata, or Four Barred Knapweed Gall Fly - big names for something so small. As for the little grub? in the shot, I have no idea what that is.
