That's cute Larry! All you need is a feeder/sugar water, with your 85 mm and you'll do fine with hummers. I have actually had them roost on my hand while waiting their turn at feeders.
P.S. Just a little side note to please ask all that do use feeders NOT to use the nectar that comes with it. Just mix 4 parts water to 1 parts sugar. The red nectar contains a dye, and can harm the birds in some instances actually.
HB girl,this is in the a provincial park in the wild,no feeding the animals.
Wasn't really implying to "that" particular hummer, just a whole generalization, as you referred to having too small a lens for these. So thought I would try a suggestion to try "at home" is all.
Thats too easy,never thought of that..I,ll have to give it a shot. But I,m still going to get one of that guy too..lol
