Wild Lynx
I love working in the bush in Northern BC. I had my first day off in a couple of weeks so I went looking for lynx to Photograph. I was lucky today as I had 5 lynx come out of the woods but I was only able to photograph 3 of them. Here they are.
This first one looks like a young lynx.

These next two were late in the day. They came through the trees and I was only able to get them as they crossed a short clearing. Looks like a mother and a kitten.

It might be hard to see in this size of image but there is a lynx in the woods in this next shot. They have such good camouflage.

Like I said, it was a good day off. I've never seen 5 in one day.

Really like this set. Great focusing in 16

Very cute, although I am sure since they are wild animals, cuddling them is not recommended :) What size are they?
The shot through the trees is great, both in your focus, and composition. I love how you caught its eye they way you have.

Great series. Lynx 5 and 7 for me.

This is a fab series - thx muchly for sharing it!

Thanks Gang! They are cool cats!
AntZ, A fully grown lynx is about the size of a Collie. They weigh about 22 pounds. The first lynx and the smaller one in the other photo are probably about a year old. They look big but I'm sure they have very thick fur in the winter. I would love to give one a hug but those big paws would probably rip me apart.
Thanks again for the comments!

This is a good year for photographing lynx. Their numbers rise and fall with the rabbit population and apparently every 7 years the rabbit population explodes. I'm not sure if this is the seventh year but I've seen more lynx this year than all of last year. Two days ago I had a mother and two kittens run across the road. Here are a couple of shots.

These crazy cats decided to sit in the middle of a busy road until I figured I should scare them off. Luckily there was a rare break in the traffic.

I thought it was cute that one of the kids gave its mom a hug for Valentines Day.

Great shots! Wow, these felines have amazing snowshoe-like paws. Love the new addition - 'hug from the youngster', but my favourites are the three from the first set taken in the sunlight, and the cat hidden in the trees.
-
All amazing captures. Just love the sharpness in the head/eyes on second shot with the movement portrayed also.

Man ... I saw a TV show the other day called the 'Deadly 60' on these cats. They had all sorts of trouble finding one in the wild ... and failed. They should have contacted you DNP. These are amazing!

you've done a great job capturing these guys
