Frozen Bat

Or at least thawing out. Got this in Cades Cove while down in a cave entrance. Took it handheld while using my girlfriends shoulder for a tripod ( good thing she also gets into the photography stuff! ) with the on camera flash. Came out way better than we thought it would.

Took me awhile to pick out what was bat in this. He's tiny!!! So they actually freeze up in here huh?

He was near the cave entrance and it had been cold. They have the rest of the cave blocked off with a gate so you can't get to far in but the bats still can, he decided not to. He was small, how I noticed him before she had it in her hair I don't know, it was pretty dark even that close to the entrance!

That is really neat LQ. Very sharp considering the conditions shooting in too.

wonderful as an abstract too! The poor, frozen bats. makes me sad. I hope that the freeze does something good for them. :-/
